This painting portrays the Egyptian Goddess Maat, the overseer of justice and fairness. She balances the scales of what needs to be rearranged for cosmic order and truth. Her symbol is the scales and feather, and she is often depicted with wings and an ostrich feather on her head. Maat has been a guide for me my whole life and visited me many times when order and justice needed to come through strongly within my life and relationships, also often as service to helping others and standing within a universal strength for the rights of those that needed support and guidance. She came to me to be painted when I personally needed her guidance the most and drawing on her strength helped me make one of the biggest decisions in my life. Her wisdom and guidance set the stage for order and balance to come back into my life in a way I needed it the most and for that honouring her felt important.
