I believe there are two types of hope. The first is unrealistic hope that keeps us trapped and hands our power over to something that keeps us from seeing all outcomes as still possible. It's a form of denial and can cause a lot of extra disappointment and pain if the desired outcome doesn't come to fruition. It's also delusional in a sense.

And then there is realistic grounded hope, a hope that keeps us deeply rooted in reality, yet allows us to hold onto more than only one outcome simultaneously. This kind of hope is all encompassing; it is healthy and aware. It lives in trust. the trust to still understand we have no control and yet wish, hope and even pray for the best outcome to any situation that we hope to turn out in our favour.
