She Took Flight and Subspace Became Her
This creation was born from my journey into the art of Shibari, also traditionally known as Kinbaku, the ancient Japanese practice of rope play, meaning "to tie." Today, this art form is celebrated and explored in many different ways across the world. It has profoundly transformed my life and deepened my connection with a very special man. This painting emerged from a bond so meaningful, it felt only right to honour and acknowledge it through art. There is truly no connection like this that I’ve experienced before.
A connection built on deep resonance and mutual respect shows that two people can become one through the intertwining length of rope. Symbolic in its form, the rope binds the body into beautiful shapes, a dance between two souls. The physical connection becomes a bridge for something far deeper: an energetic exchange, a shift in consciousness, where trust, surrender, and vulnerability are fully embodied.
In this sacred space, true release and heightened sensations are birthed. One partner guides, the other lets go, each playing a role in an energetic conversation that transcends words through touch. At its core, the power dynamic between them is held in deep reverence and resonance. It is sacred and precious. And through this sacred art, a deeper understanding of trust, connection, and presence can be revealed.
